Captain Albertus Beeslaar has left tragedy in the city of Johannesburg behind him, only to have his hopes of finding peace in an isolated station in the far Northern Cape shattered by a brutal farm murder.

It is only the first in a series of cases that take Captain Beeslaar from Stellenbosch to Soweto and out into the Kalahari itself.

Karin Brynard is an ex-journalist who earned her stripes during the Freedom Struggle of the eighties. Her Beeslaar novels, ‘Weeping Waters’, ‘Our Fathers’, and ‘Homeland’ took the South African market by storm, becoming instant bestsellers. All have been now been published in English.
