The nominees for the 15th South African Film and Television Awards (Saftas) was announced on Thursday.

Tshedza Pictures dominated the nominees list with 12 nominations for The River on 1Magic (DStv 103) and 12 nominations for its new telenovela Legacy on M-Net (DStv 101).

The broadcast of the TV awards ceremony moves from SABC2 to SABC3 this year. 

The 15th SAFTAs, with Anneke de Ridder as executive producer, will be broadcast on Saturday 22 May, with a virtual half-hour “red carpet” broadcast starting at 18:30 and the 2-hour live broadcast starting at 19:00.
